Here is a description of this SPECIAL FLUTE:

These instruments are an original idea of mine and to my knowledge have never been done before. The voice of this flute is different than your average Native American Flute. The voice is very bold, vibrant and full. After playing the proto-type for people on the phone and with some help and ideas from friends I thought of the name Fortissimo Flute. Fortissimo in music terms means louder. Since this flute’s voice is so full and bold I thought it fit the description (louder) very well. These flutes are not drones. They are a dual airway, single bore flute with only one blowhole. They are very friendly to play. The flute pictured above is the first flute to be offered, for sale, on my site.

Keys: Currently I am offering this unique flute in only the key of Mid. F# Diatonic until I can design other keys. This is a 7 hole flute with the seventh hole covered by the thumb on the bottom side of the flute.

Wood Type: Although there are several choices of woods that can be used to make this instrument, the flute pictured above is made from rare Genuine Lacewood.

Block: Block choices are numerous and up to the individual. The blocks used on the flute pictured above are the Triple P made from Curly Maple.

Cost: The starting base price of these flutes is $395.00 plus whatever additional wood fee is added which will vary depending on the wood chosen.

Here is what recording artist Mark Holland has to say about these instruments………..

“Ed's newest flute lives up to its name "fortissimo"! The flute has a big, full voice - you can feel the vibrations in your fingers. It is one that can be played loud and the voice is very unique. Diatonic scale - the thumb hole under the flute is not hard to integrate into playing - you can get about 12 notes or so. I bet if you experiment you may come up with more.
Kudos Ed for coming up with a new design, I’m impressed!”
